Hi
As many of you will know, time is quickly running out for Amina Lawal,
sentenced to death by stoning for conceiving a child while divorced in
Katsina State, Nigeria. Her case, and that of others such as Yunusa Rafin
Chiyawa in Bauchi State (the first man to be sentenced to death by stoning
for adultery) are the result of social policy changes arising from the
introduction of Shari'ah punishments in Northern Nigeria.
Amina's deadline for appeal passes this week.
