It look as if some of us are still here. I am not escaping for a
holiday until October. Not that it matters as I do not have anything
useful to say except that I think that detached bits of parishes were
not uncommon, that sometimes counties had detached bits too (almost any
old map of the counties will regale you with the "Detached Part of
Flint", and that I have long understood they represented parts of manors
which were in another county. That explanation seems reasonable and I
have never checked it.
