Application Details The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Scholars in
Health Policy Research Program was established in 1992 to foster the
development of creative thinkers in health policy research. Recent
graduates of doctoral programs in economics, political science, and
sociology, including junior faculty, are invited to apply for this
unique and challenging fellowship. Up to 12 Scholars will be
selected in the coming year to participate in the Program at one of
three nationally prominent academic institutions Harvard University,
the University of California at Berkeley (in collaboration with the
University of California at San Francisco), and The University of
Michigan. There they will have the opportunity to work collaboratively
in multidisciplinary environments with faculty from the social sciences,
medicine, public health, and public policy. Scholars also have access
to the full range of university resources and there are no teaching or
administrative responsibilities. To be eligible, applicants must have
a doctoral degree in economics, political science, or sociology received
after January 1, 1998 but not later than July 15, 2003. Preference will
be given to applicants who have not previously worked in the areas of
health or health policy research. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or
permanent residents at the time of application.
Salary Range $68,000 (first year) and $71,000 (second year)
