Deutschland nach den Wahlen
Talk (in German) by Dr. Benno Fischer
Thur 3 October, 7 pm
Introduced by Prof. Stephen Parker, Head of the School of Modern
Languages at the University of Manchester
The elections in Germany promise to be a fight to the finish. What issues will
be decisive when people go to cast their votes? Will it be core issues such
as employment, law and order, immigration as well as reforms of health and
social security? Is a united Germany still possibly a divided Germany when it
comes to the polling booth?
Dr. Benno Fischer, a sociologist and lecturer from Berlin, will analyse what
consequences these aspects finally had on the election result.
Organised in conjunction with the University of Manchester and Friends of the
Goethe-Institut Manchester.
