We are still seeking candidates for two PhD studentships as part of
an AHRB-funded research project entitled Nature and Environment in
Modern German Literature. Holders of the studentships will receive a
maintenance grant of £8000 in year 1, £9000 in year 2, and £9225 in
year 3. Tuition fees will be paid in full.
Applicants should ideally have a Masters-level qualification in some
aspect of German literature, though it will be possible to consider
candidates with a good first degree.
The studentships are to commence from 1 October or as soon as
possible thereafter. One is to be held in Newcastle, supervised by
Professor Colin Riordan, the other in Bath, to be supervised by Dr
Axel Goodbody. Applicants for full funding need to be UK nationals,
though EU nationals resident in the UK for the last three years are
eligible for a fees-only award.
I would be very grateful if list members would bring this to the
attention of any eligible candidates, who should contact me in the
first instance.
