Finbarr - alas I can't respond precisely because as a teacher rather than a
researcher I don't know.
Without being Churlish -I only mean to raise a point. For example The phrase
- are you another Bush - in Logic terms this is a rhetoric device (poisoning
the well) - by associating me with another - you try to cast doubt on my
argument - but this is not logic or science. And its this type of argument I
am qualified to refute. Would anyone leave a sentence like yours stand in an
Economics essay?
And this is what I am worried about. You would be insulted I said you were
a nazi because Hitler was a vegetarian - and I would be wrong.
The case for global warming is not made at all as I understand it, but -
the case for CFs and Ozone is I believe. Sentiment and Science are poor
bedfellows. And if you want a contest on eco-friendly lifestyle - I would be
prepared to bet I'd win win - but that fact does not make my argument or
anyone else's correct.
The use of very 'sexy' materials to get over a point - does not make
arguments correct - and I worry that the style of presentation of much of
the eco stuff is emotive. And while this has its place it is not in an
Economics classroom.
