Modeling Interdisciplinary Inquiry:
A Postdoctoral Program in the Humanities and Social Sciences
Washington University announces the third year of an Andrew W. Mellon

interdisciplinary scholarship and teaching across the humanities and social
sciences. Beginning in September 2001, and lasting for five years, the
Fellowship Program brings to Washington University new and recent Ph.D.s who
wish to strengthen their own advanced training and to participate in the
university's ongoing interdisciplinary programs and seminars.

for the 2003-04 academic year the annual stipend will be $37,200. Fellows
will outline a plan for their own continuing research in association with a

their home discipline and collaborate each spring semester in leading a
seminar in the theory and methods of interdisciplinary research.
