Very interesting thoughts. War can be analysed from different perspectives:
economics, psychology, law, etc. Following your point of view I would add
that comon people are manipoulated by the few who control power (generate
public opionion, are in decision making positions, etc in the private and
public sectors),and who would have some type of benefit from the
economic/political outcome of the war, or whose aspirations and emotions are
governed by a sadistic plesure of killing/subjugating/other human beings. My
reading of history is that only a further democratisation of societies could
really control the sadistic human tendency of the few. Good people need to
be involved in the running of the 'Polis' (society). I agree that it is very
little one person can do to stop the war, but we need to try by generating
debate. The first the second, ww, the vietnam, corean wars were not
innevitable. Why we couldn't stop it? we really need to answer this question
because the world may not have another chance. Individuals need to
participate, generate, organise debate, it is the only way. Even if our own
opinion does not prevail in the first place. A participatory society is the
best cure to the totalitarian temptation of the few and the inevitable
future of our only world. Peace really needs a chance,AV

There are many 'victims' of war and many war veterans are disabled people.
After, they have given their life's to their Country,(UK and USA), then they
are left with their 'scars' of war and ignored by the national governments.
Remember, the many 'victims of Vietnam and other recent wars e.g Gulf and
Falklands and how many soldiers ended up being physically and mentally
impaired. 'Gulf-War Syndrome ?
There are many disabled veterans of 'wars' who are left to rot on the
streets by their governments they fought for.
War Stinks... peace in the world...but I'm a idealist and dreamer... I don't
think I will ever experience a peaceful world in my lifetime.
9/11: I remember all the 'victims' of war around the world.
Regards
Col R
