Soft Experience has released Catalogue 4.0, a Windows utility to gather
metadata and to generate HTML/XML/RDF reports.
Main new features:
- get metadata from HTML documents: title and <meta>
- get Adobe XMP metadata
- mass update function to easily modify a set of MS Office documents
properties now apply in subdirectories
- can select files according to their extensions
- easily modify or add your own user interface language
- can modify order of metadata columns in HTML/CSV/Word reports
Collected metadata:
- Microsoft Office, Star Office and OpenOffice.org summary informations
- summary informations of any Windows 2000 file
- HTML documents: title and <meta> according to Dublic Core schema (IETF RFC
2731)
- Adobe XMP (eXtensible Metadata Platform) metadata which can be associated
with documents produced by Adobe's last versions software: Photoshop 7.0,
Acrobat 5.0, FrameMaker 7.0, GoLive 6.0, InDesign 2.0, InCopy 2.0,
Illustrator 10.0, LiveMotion 2.0.
- user-defined informations of any Microsoft Office or OpenOffice.org
document
- Macintosh comments of any Macintosh file stored on NTFS volumes
- PDF Document informations (for non encrypted PDF documents)
- IPTC-NAA fields for JPEG/TIFF images
The program can generate directly HTML or XML reports of collected metadata,
and is able to apply appropriate XSL transformations to build any
text/csv/html/xml report. See sample:
