By definition Date.Acquired and Date.Submission are different. But is
botth needed??
In my opinon - YES. Se Ann's argument!! But also: In the Danish e-gov
metadata-model we are operating with both elements (at the moment they
have different names - but they are exact equvalents). It is important
for a governmental agency to know exactly when a ressource (document,
text etc.) was recieved. It is almost importent as the ressource itself
-and there is a long tradition for registration of thar particular
information (element)

There's also the point that for some collections, submission does not
automatically lead to acquisition, i.e. some submitted items may be
rejected
after a human decision making process, with an interval of time
consequently
quite normal between submission and acquisition.
Someone auditing that decision making process would want to know about
submission separately form acquisition.

Well...we're not just talking about electronic stuff.
Centuries could have passed between a submission and an aquisition.
