It's time to register for the 5th CETIS Educational Content SIG Meeting,
which will be a daylong event at Staffordshire University on Monday
October 21st 2002. This event is FREE and lunch and refreshments will be
provided.
The agenda will include:
DEMOs:
* Steve Walmsley & Dr. Ben Ryan of Yorkshire & Humberside's High Level
Skills for Industry project gave a presentation on their XML-based
digital repository of reusable learning objects at the last SIG meeting
in Edinburgh. This time they will demo the repository's new authoring
tool with combined XML/IMS Content Packaging output. To catch up, check
out the relevant links under the 'Files' section of the EC SIG web page
(http://www.cetis.ac.uk/educational-content/).
* Dr. Chris Jesshope, Professor of Computer Science, Hull University and
Director of New Zealand company NZEdSoft will give a presentation and
live demo of NZEdSoft's freely available AudioGraph software for
authoring multimedia content (http://www.nzedsoft.com/). AudioGraph
generates multimedia web sites and allows the author to easily capture
images, graphics and voice. The site generated uses html and a plug-in
for playback of the multimedia. They are currently working on metadata
automation and IMS Content Packaging for interoperability.
* Eddie Clark and Mark Stiles of Staffordshire University will demo the
brand new release of their open source VLE COSE, which utilises IMS
Content Packaging & Metadata specs.
