We all know (because of the big red signs) that mobile phones interfere with
medical equipment.
Last week I forgot to switch off my phone and it went off in resus.
The ventilator did not stop, the monitor did not blink, the portable X ray
machine did not seem to notice and in short, nothing happened.
When the phone rings near my PC the screen develops a few lines for a few
seconds - thats all.
The phone does not seem to affect my palm pilot, the computer which runs my
car, my Hi Fi, television or anything else that I own with complex
electronics.
Question; What Medical equipment is affected and what evidence is there for
this?
Paul
PS. I was on the train a few weeks back with a friend, he made a phone call
and was told off for using it in a mobile free zone, the same complainant
did not tell us off for talking face to face. Oh, and the train did not stop
working!
