I don't think a lot is actually known about guaifenesin although there is a
case report of a death associated with very high levels. Undoubtedly some
parents think of these over the counter meds in the light of 'if a little is
good a lot must be better' . Did you take paracetamol levels/INR as
indicators of possible occult overdosing ?
