I have just had a go at it - 2.9 planets - I presume because I cycle
everywhere.
But actually think this is a very dangerous teaching tool. Without being
able to see what basis it decides the model seems designed to tell us how
wicked and wasteful we are - i.e. Its programmers mind was made up before
hand - it might be a nice site (and it is) - but I think we have a serious
responsibility here not to tout this stuff as truth or even Economics - it
isn't - it seems like indoctrination - and however good the cause-we do a
serious disservice to use this stuff.
I would love to hear if anyone thinks along similar lines -
For your info - I cycle everywhere, we recycle more than almost anyone I
know, try to buy food from the local allotment, have no pets and so on, so I
am not Mr. Free Market - consume to we drop type. Nevertheless I like to
think of myself as a well trained scientist and the case for looking after
the planet does not have to made with propaganda like this.
There is I think a very serious issue here - so apologies if my jovial style
gets in the way. But - the credibility of our subject is at stake. In many
ways the trend to become entertainers in the classroom - we risk chucking
out the scientific baby with the dry text books of the past bathing water.
