Leeds Involvement Project
wish to appoint an Involvement Worker (Black and Minority Ethnic Disabled
People) Ref: LIP/02
The Disabled People and Diversity Project is an exciting, new project. This
post holder will be responsible for increasing the involvement of Black and
minority ethnic disabled people in the planning and development of community
care services in Leeds. Another post holder will provide the same role for
lesbian, gay and bisexual disabled people.
Disabled people are defined as people with physical or sensory impairments,
learning difficulties or mental health system users/ survivors.
Salary 17.5 hours per week (half time), SO1 currently £19770 (pro rata)
Initial contract: 34 months
This post is open only to disabled people from black and minority ethnic
communities, section 5(2),d of the Race Relations Act 1977 applies. This is
a readvertisement, previous applicants who meet the criteria may reapply.
The worker will be expected to have a strong commitment to equality of
opportunity and involvement of all disabled people. LIP uses a Social Model
of Disability framework and the post holder will need to approach work in
this way.
