Hello All,
Yes I have tried phoning around, its that time of the week! I have a few
basic question to understand the RB framework, from a BaBar view point:
1) we have a VO server which is running at Manchester and the membership
gets updated every two hours, with a cron job running at SLAC. The
possible new member has to create a file in (s)he's home directory
with the DN.
2) I expect then that the local gatekeepers, on offer for babar, update
their grid-mapfile by queires to the VO server at Manchester (this
done with some of Andrew's perl scripts)
3) The BaBar GIIS server is running at Bristol which is queiring all
the BaBar resources which are available and detailed information. So
this is from all the local_GIIS one per site (which is a sum of all
the local_GRIS's)
now comes the part which I do not understand.....
4) The IC RB: when it gets a job sent to it. It must do the
authentication, but how does it do that..? The machine where the
RB is running, does it have a grid-mapfile? and how is it updated?
5) Does the RB know which VO you below to? so that it gets to talk to
the right GIIS server?
6) How does the RB know that you (even if you are a member of a VO) are
authorisated to use a partiular resources...(for this is a local
matter)?
cheers
