WITH APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING
Social Justice in Scotland: urban and rural dimensions
The newly-formed Scottish Centre for Research on Social Justice is hosting a
one-day conference in Aberdeen on Friday 13 September. The purpose of the
conference is to examine patterns of social (in)justice in Scotland across
the urban-rural continuum. Differences in the nature and causes of injustice
will be explored, as well as differences of degree. There will be a
particular focus on the functional relationships or interdependencies
between urban and rural areas, and how these contribute to injustice. The
conference also seeks to address questions of appropriate policy responses,
and how these may vary between urban and rural contexts.
Speakers include:
* Margaret Curran, MSP and Minister for Social Justice
* Professor Robina Goodlad, Co-Director of the SCRSJ
* Professor Simin Davoudi, Centre for Urban Development and Environmental
Management, Leeds Metropolitan University
There is a limited number of places remaining. There is no charge for this
event but booking is essential. To view the full programme and download a
