Or if you prefer light non-fiction, I can strongly recommend H.F.M.
Prescott, Once to Sinai: The Further Pilgrimage of Friar Felix Fabri
(London, Eyre & Spottiswoode, 1957), which is not only a good read
but, I believe, fairly reliable history, based on Fabri's 1483
pilgrimage account, bolstered by other contemporary sources.
