BBC TWO Learning Zone Programmes Schedule 15th September to 13th
December 2002
The key strands to look out for are:
1. Repeats of the main BBC courses (for the start of the new adult
education year). This includes the two older but still very popular
series, España Viva and Buongiorno Italia!
2. Languages for work: all our most recent series plus a repeat of
Japanese Language and People.
We're also launching one new 60 min programme - The French Connection: a
guide to the culture of the French-speaking world. Michael Palin's West
African Safari will be shown sometime in the Autumn but no TX date has
been decided. We're hoping that the scheduling of The French Experience 2
(shot partly in Senegal) and/or of this new one-off documentary will coincide
with the Palin series.
The block of beginners' series is interrupted by a special week of
programming to mark European Day of Languages on Thursday 26th
September. That day we'll be showing our compilation of the
motivational shorts Talk the Talk, made in collaboration with CILT,
and the British Council programme Multilingual UK which was made to
celebrate the UK's national and community languages for last year's
European Year of Languages. The rest of the week has a variety of
inspirational and practical programming about working abroad and
learning a language.

Updated Euro Information for BBC Courses
As from the beginning of August special euro worksheets will be available on
our new website www.bbclanguages.com <http://www.bbclanguages.com>
for Sueños World Spanish, The French Experience, Italianissimo, Deutsch
Plus, España Viva and Buongiorno Italia! They can be printed out and
photostatted for your students and will contain exercises to cover the most
common currency-related situations like:
Shopping
Booking hotel accommodation
Travel
Restaurants
Going out
There will be up to 20 exercises for each of the six courses to reflect the
number of currency-related exercises in the individual course books. The
exercises will contain references to course book units and/or numbers of
exercises they replace to make it easy for learners and tutors to locate the
right euro exercise for the part of the course book they're working with.
BBC Languages are also currently working on a plan to include updated euro
information in new editions of the actual course books and audio for next year
- and we'll tell you more about this in our next newsletter.
The BBC Talk short courses series has recently been extended to include
Talk French book & 2 CDs pack (0563 47102 6), Talk German book & 2 CDs
pack (0563 47104 2), Talk Italian book & 2 CDs pack (0563 47103 4) and
Talk Spanish book & 2 CDs pack (0563 47112 3) - all priced at £14.99 inc
