I hesitate to reply to this but in an attempt to get something clarified
in own my mind I am struck by Erik Jul's observation that:
> If we do not insist upon an element-qualifier syntax, we are free to create

> added value to the descriptor:

> <Date><dateAccepted>

and the declaration in the "Guidelines for implementing Dublin Core in
XML" http://www.dublincore.org/documents/2002/07/23/dc-xml-guidelines/
which seems to confirm the 'logical result of this approach':
"Element refinements are elements in their own right and are therefore
best encoded in a similar way to other DC elements. In particular, it
should be noted that element refinements may have further refinements of
their own (e.g. 'format' is refined by 'extent' which might be further
refined by 'duration')."
In the Guidelines the recommended usage is:
<dcterms:available>2002-06</dcterms:available>
which, in turn, is dependent on the RDF schema defined via the namespace
http://purl.org/dc/terms/ which constructs 'available' as
<rdf:Property rdf:about="http://purl.org/dc/terms/available">
<rdfs:label>Available</rdfs:label>
<rdfs:comment>Date (often a range) that the resource will become or did
become available.</rdfs:comment>
<rdfs:subPropertyOf rdf:resource="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/date"/>
<rdfs:isDefinedBy rdf:resource="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" />
</rdf:Property>
making it clear, in RDF terms, I think, that
<dcterms:available>2002-06</dcterms:available>
is semantically equivalent to
<date><available>
or
<dateAvailable>
Is this interpretation right so far?
