http://dublincore.org/documents/2002/04/14/dcq-rdf-xml/ makes use of an example: <?xml version="1.0"?> <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" xmlns:rdfs="http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/"> <rdf:Description rdf:ID="17"> <dc:identifier> <rdf:Alt> <rdf:li rdf:resource="http://dublincore.org/"/> <rdf:li rdf:resource="http://purl.org/dc/"/> </rdf:Alt> </dc:identifier> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF> Identifier is described in http://dublincore.org/documents/1999/07/02/dces/ as: "An unambiguous reference to the resource within a given context." It seems strange to say that the resource identified by #17 can be unambiguously referenced by a collection of alternatives; the first of which being something that is identified by http://dublincore.org/ the second being something which is identified by http://purl.org/dc/. Would duplication of the identifier not be more plausible?: <?xml version="1.0"?> <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" xmlns:rdfs="http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#" xmlns:dc="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/" xmlns:dcterms="http://purl.org/dc/terms/"> <rdf:Description rdf:ID="17"> <dc:identifier>http://dublincore.org/<dc:identifier> <dc:identifier>http://purl.org/dc/</dc:identifier> </rdf:Description> </rdf:RDF> Neither the use of rdf:Alt nor the use of rdf:resource seem appropriate.
