New Directions in Children's Geographies
Annual Meeting of the Association of American Geographers
New Orleans, March 4-8

Papers are invited for a session or sessions at AAG 2003 on children's
geographies (broadly interpreted). Topics could include (but are not
limited to):
* children's and young people's uses of "public space"
* children and young people's imaginative geographies
* contemporary moral panics about children and adolescents
* the construction and contestation of "child" and "adult" roles
* children and human rights
* childhood and identity
* children and play
* methodological approaches to research with children and young people
* new ways of theorizing childhood and youth
* the impacts of globalization and economic restructuring on children
* children/youth and nature
Interested participants should email abstracts of 200-250 words to

As the AAG registration deadline is September 30, we request abstracts
be sent by Wednesday, September 4, 2002.
