The Higher Education Development Unit (HEDU) is part of Monash
University's Centre for Learning and Teaching Support (CeLTS).
The broad role of the Unit is to assist the University in improving the
quality of learning and teaching. It contributes to policy
development in this area and provides educational, academic staff
development opportunities throughout the University. The Head of
HEDU reports to the Director of CeLTS.
The appointee will have a background and qualifications in learning
and teaching, a higher degree in a relevant area and a good
knowledge of adult or higher education learning. She or he will
have experience in staff development related to educational
technology and the development of resources, the development
and teaching of award courses in tertiary learning and teaching and
in a variety of academic development activities. Experience of
supervising staff and providing leadership for projects would be an
advantage.
DUTIES
Reporting to the Head, HEDU, the primary role of the appointee will
be to provide leadership in staff development related to educational
technology.
In particular, the appointee will:
Reporting to the Head, HEDU, the appointee will contribute to the
University's development of student-centred flexible learning by:
· taking a leadership role in staff development related to
educational technology, including WebCT, and the development of
appropriate resources;
· day-to-day supervision of staff employed on WebCT related
projects;
· teaching in the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education and
providing support for its online learning components;
· selecting appropriate technologies for staff development materials
to be made accessible in flexible mode;
· contributing to staff development activities including workshops
and consultations;
· contributing to university/faculty/departmental committees and
working parties as appropriate;
· undertaking supervision and research leading to publication.
The appointee will work closely with other members of HEDU and
will be expected to contribute fully to the Unit's strategic planning
and other processes. He or she will also work closely with staff in
other units of the Centre for Learning and Teaching Support.
Salary: $ 52,881 - 62,797 (Lecturer - Level B)
$64,779 - $74,695 (Senior Lecturer - Level C).
This is a continuing position.
Location: Clayton campus.
Date of appointment: The appointee will be expected to take up
