With reference to Jane Keskar;s query on behalf of Bob Turvey, I possess a
copy of a small booklet titled "There was a Young Man with a Story", which
contains the text of sixteen limericks by Kipling, collected and privately
printed by Roger Lancelyn Green in 1980. The first five are dated before
1895, in 1879, 1886, 1888 (bis) and 1889. The sixth (1895) is the Boy of
Quebec. The collection was distributed by Roger strictly for private
circulation among friends. In his preface Roger says he has collected all
he has been able to discover that have been written down; many others were
never recorded.
