How fascinating: Eloi is patron of goldsmiths, blacksmiths and farriers. His
principal emblem is a horseshoe, and he is shown in a 14th C depiction
shoeing a horse whose leg he had previously removed and restored (Oxford
Dictionary of Saints).
When you say feast day, is this 1 December, or the translation on 25 June
(at Ely, at any rate)? Is there a different feast day in Brittany?
