CALL FOR PAPERS
The 2002 Irish Social Policy Association Annual Conference will take place
in Dublin City University on 12-13 September 2002.

Ms. Eithne Fitzgerald, Trinity College Dublin
Mr Brian Harvey, author of Rights and Justice Work in Ireland : A New
Baseline
Dr. Jane Pillinger, Independent Social Policy Consultant
Ms. Inez Mc Cormack, Human Rights Commission, Northern Ireland
The following sub-themes will be addressed :
- Understanding a rights-based approach
- Government and NGO responses to a rights-based approach
- Legal perspectives on rights
- Rights and duties
- Paying for rights
Abstracts are now being sought for Parallel Sessions. Papers are being
sought both on the generic issues relating to a rights-based approach as
well as the application of this approach to specific policy areas (e.g
housing, health, welfare, education, immigration) or target groups (e.g.
Travellers, asylum seekers, disabled people).
Abstracts of about 150 words (either on paper or by email in rich text
format) should be sent to :
