INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON ENGINEERING EDUCATION
ICEE 2002
UMIST, Manchester, UK
August 18 – 21 2002
There’s still time to register for the International Conference on
Engineering Education (ICEE 2002) which will be held at UMIST in Manchester
from 18 – 21 August 2002. Following successful meetings in Rio de Janeiro,
the Czech Republic, Taiwan and Oslo the ICEE series of conferences is now
established as the leading international forum for the dissemination of best
practice in engineering education. This year the Manchester conference has
attracted over four hundred papers from over 40 countries around the world
and promises to continue the ICEE tradition with its focus on practice,
policy and partnership. Amongst the highlights of the conference will be
keynote papers from Dr Eugenio Garcia of the Instituto Tecnologico y de
Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Tec de Monterrey) in Mexico and Dr John
Newbury of the Open University in the UK. A special panel session has been
organised featuring presentations from the leaders of the US National
Science Foundation’s Engineering Education Coalitions Programme, and other
sessions will focus on topics such as Problem Based Learning, professional
body accreditation, quality, web-based learning, virtual laboratories,
e-learning and international issues such as the Bologna Declaration.
