Job Opportunity - The British Council Manchester
The British Council is the UK's international organisation for educational
and cultural relations. We aim to build and develop long-term relationships
with governments, organisations and people to provide mutual benefit and
promote a wider knowledge of UK language, arts, science, technology and
education.
Information Services Management provides strategic leadership for the
British Council's information work across the globe. As well as providing
support services to our 220 library and information centres throughout the
world, the Knowledge Resources Team within ISM develops and incubates new
products and services. In a time of change where information services are
moving beyond the current physical boundaries of our offices, these new
products and services play a vital role in helping the British Council reach
wider audiences and provide them with access to the best of the UK.
The post of Communications and Planning Co-ordinator is a new post in the
Knowledge Resources Team which provides an exciting opportunity for someone
who relishes challenges in a changing environment. The post holder will play
a crucial role in helping the rest of the team deliver existing and new
products and services to the global information network. This will be
achieved through a mixture of planning and project systems and first class
communication and knowledge sharing strategies. This pivotal post will work
closely with Deputy Director Knowledge Resources and the two other middle
managers in the team to maximise the impact of the work being done by
Knowledge Resources.
