The Institute for Learning and Research Technology's
(http://www.ilrt.bris.ac.uk) Imaging Group currently has three
vacancies available on digital imaging projects.
1) TASI Technical Training Officer
The Technical Advisory Service for Images (TASI) is a Joint Information
Systems Committee (JISC) funded service (http://www.tasi.ac.uk/), which
provides information, training and resources for digitisation projects.
The post holder will help set up and provide training and support
through the TASI workshop programme. In collaboration with other
members of the TASI team, the post holder will set up and write
technical training materials for workshops and maintain an up-to-date
research-based knowledge of technical developments pertinent to
managing, creating, delivering and using digital images for learning
and teaching.

2) BioBank Project Officer
The new BioBank digital images repository for the biomedical and
healthcare communities will be based on the highly successful,
internationally recognised Bristol Biomedical Image archive
(http://www.brisbio.ac.uk/). BioBank has recently been funded by JISC
to build on the existing Bristol BioMed. The main duties will
involve research into metadata and interoperability standards; liasing
with project partners, image donors and potential users; devising
protocols for the online submission and deposit of digital images and
the handling of related copyright issues; developing standards and
criteria for quality checking of images and metadata; producing project
reports and documentation; assisting with training, evaluation,
usability testing and dissemination.

3) TASI Technical Research Officer
The post holder will provide research (information gathering) and
written documentation (information dissemination) for TASI. This
support will include technical and theoretical research, dissemination
of information, assistance in the provision of training via the
workshop programme and development of the Image Collections Registry.
The post will also involve liaison work with the LTSNs and the RSCs to
widen community awareness of TASI.
