Over the summer period the "german-studies" list will continue
functioning, although the volume of list traffic will doubtless fall
off. If you are going to be away and would like to stop receiving
mail from the list anyway, there's no need to unsubscribe from the
list completely and you can temporarily suspend your subscription as
follows.
Send a message to
[log in to unmask]
saying (in the body of the message - the subject line can be left
blank)
set german-studies nomail
or, if you subscribe to other JISCmail lists and want to suspend mail
from them all,
set * nomail
When you want to start receiving messages from the list(s) again,
send a message to the same address saying, respectively, either
set german-studies mail
or
set * mail
This works at any other time too, of course. If your e-mail program
normally adds an internet signature to your mails automatically,
you'll need to suppress it when mailing a command to the JISCmail
computer. The easiest way to do this is to add "stop" (without
inverted commas) on a new line after your command.

searched at:
