Hi
Would anyone else like to be considered for a paper in the Spring 2003
edition of Disability Studies Quarterly?
The theme is around 'Disability and the Life Course' and could incorporate
papers addressing this relationship from a number of perspectives. For
example, it might relate to life history research or the analysis of
biographical narrative. It might inlcude analyses of the way in which
cultures, institutions, policies and political economy shape our
understanding of the 'normal' life course and how disability culture
challenges that construction and governance. It might include papers that
address disability issues in relation to particular generational categories
(childhood, old age, youth, adulthood) or moments of transition. There are
opportunities to look at how other factors (particularly gender) interact
with life course pathways, trajectories and opportuntities too.
International, majority world and under-represented perspectives would be
welcomed.
Be imaginative and let me know off list, with an abstract and some brief
personal details, so that I can add your suggestions to those I already
have.
Best Wishes
