Hi everyone!
Although I use "disabled person" to describe my identity and to express my
ideology, and don't care for the implications bound up in "person with
impairments," I feel very strongly that each person should be able to name
themselves without anyone else telling them they have chosen wrong. After
all, if we try to impose our own beliefs, we are being just as oppressive as
the general community is toward us. We should not attempt to usurp each
person's right to name themselves for the sake of ideological posturing.
Best wishes,
Beth
