Well I (almost) thought I'd see this headline in the Washington
Post. Imagine yourself in Dubya Bush's shoes. The anniversary of
the 9-11 atrocity draws ever closer, and the electorate will ask
themselves, what has actually been done about that. The
replacement of one regime in Afghanistan with another (well,
almost-replacement, the Taliban foot soldiers, and many of the
commanders too, are still around, and Afghani women aren't having
such a better time of it than they did 12 months ago). We still don't
know if O-B-L is dead, alive, or like Schrodinger's Cat, in a
quantum state of both, somewhere in Pakistan, Afghanistan, or
both simultaneously. Then along comes WorldCom, Enron,
Anderson, etc. The stockmarkets are even lower than just after 9-
11. 2003, the re-election process, draws ever closer. Better do
something soon, like Thatcher did with the Falklands 20 years ago.
What better than a spectacular invasion of Iraq, get the prize that's
been eluding every leader of the West for years, topple Saddam,
even better do it just before 9-11-02. (hint, don't let the Kurds in the
north get their own state, that'll annoy Turkey a lot, and Turkey are
the nice guys). Shame about other Mid-eastern countries like
Jordan having reservations, but that doesn't matter because, being
the USA, this will be a hi-tech war, at least to start with, based
from destroyers in the Gulf, and maybe the Med, out of any
wavering state's territorial waters. Just so long as Britain is fully
behind Dubya, so the said destroyers, missile forces etc can be
refuelled from there. Hi-tech warfare to remotely knock out as much
of Iraq as possible before what's left can be flooded with US troops,
a quick war, a few weeks long. just time to get this done before 9-
11-02 if we start quickly.
Just a few questions for Dubya....
1) what is Saddam likely to do once he realises the game is
almost up (clue, cancel that trip to Tel Aviv for the end of August.
Don't get too close to tall buildings in London either.).
2) Is this why you've been getting even closer to Blair recently.
3) Would you be doing this if WorldCom etc hadn't happened, and
the economy didn't need the boost that a short but massive and
very sharp strike will give it. ...Oh, and 4) Hang on, wasn't O-B-L a
Saudi, not an Iraqi. No, cancel that last question. Stupid question.
We get a lot of oil from Saudi, don't we.
