When this was raised on the list a while back I don't remember the question
of safety in pregnancy coming up. Anyone looked into this? Tet Vacc has
been used widely in pregnancy in parts of the world where tetanus is a major
health hazard and where tetanus neonatorum is a major killer. I have had
no similar experience with Diphtheria Vaccine, nor indeed with Dip/Tet.
Dip/Tet has been widely used in children, of course and has a good safety
record but I suspect less heavily tested in pregnancy because not indicated
in adults before.
I would be delighted to hear that I am wrong, or should we be pressing for a
supply of Tet Vac to be used on pregnant patients?
What is the wisdom of the list?
