Can I just point something out?
This list is free, no-one is coerced to read or contribute to it, and is does
not need policing in this way. If you don't think discussion of a thread is
relevant, or you disagree with the sentiments, feel free to tick the little
boxes next to the relevant emails and delete them. It's very quick, somewhat
satisfying, and is generally a normotensive exercise.

Fine, but this member of the public was not even a patient! My point is that
if we discuss moral and ethical dilemmas that don't even involve patients,
then the List really will become irrelevant.
And Robbie, BAEM have publically endorsed the use of acad-ad-med to discuss
the consultant contract, and it clearly is a useful forum for this purpose.
I wouldn't dream of posting to a GP list criticising them for discussing
their contract.
Anyway, am now off-line for the rest of the weekend you'll be glad to hear,
to include socialising in London, trekking in the Chilterns and touring
(virtually) Magny-Cours and Muirfield. If I come across any dodgy behaviour
by any members of the public along the way, and in London I see such
behaviour on a daily basis, I promise I will not come to the List and ask
your advice on how to deal with it!
