This is rather dodgy news for, not least, geog P/G students in their
final months of writing up, along with Llampeter, and things like
Sociology being run down/closed at Birmingham, apparently. Is the
same happening in other countries, or is it just the UK that is
blessed with this "if it doesn't obviously/immediately pay, don't
research it" culture. Or basically, which country should
geographers be applying for visas for?!
