Thank youu for your responses.
Unfortunately i do not have the time right now to
respond in detail to all of the points raised but would
like to address a few briefly. Sorry for putting everything
into one long email, but it will save time.......
James, no problem. You didn't stir anything up that wasn't
there already, i just needed to get around to getting it
out there!
I spoke to Dewi Bowen about 2 years ago who telephoned me
to say that he and a few others down in South Wales were
aiming to get Source back into print and had even prepared
some office space to that end. However, that is the last i
heard from them and Source still hasn't appeared. As i
understand it, there was an issue ready to print but funds
were not enough to get it out. If this is so (and i have no
reason to doubt it) then why didn't they just get in touch
with their subscribers for a whip round? I would have been
happy to contribute a few quid to see Source back in print.
Regarding content, LSJ is happy to accept material of ANY
sort. The only article that has not been accepted by the
editors was a very wishy-washy new age piece from the
States that did not say anything new, stole material and
photos from other people (including my photos from my
website would you believe?) and did not deserve to be
published anywhere.
Remember, there are 7 streams in LSJ in order to accomodate
info of all types. The peer reviewed material is just one
stream and is not expected to flow with each issue. In
fact, we have only received one article which was worthy of
inclusion - thanks to Jeremy, and even that needed some
minor adjustments!
LSJ is available in print format. You can print it out and
read at your leisure. The pages are formatted to be
printer friendly (a process which takes more time!) The
printout for issue 1 ran to a hefty pile of paper, which
would be very, very expensive to print in the numbers that
would sell.
However, if anybody would like a printout and is unable or
unwilling to do it themselves, the editors were always
happy to provide a printed version at cost.
Oaky, see my other email for a brief response to how LSJ
will probably go.
Cheers and happy welling!
Rich
