I think quantity would be part of an assemblage recording system (if such a thing is necessary) as it is only relevant when describing a collection. Incidentally, quantity might be more complex than just a number (e.g. for finds like slag, wasters etc.) - any ideas?
It would be very helpful to know which additional fields you had before, what terminology standards you used, and which you considered useful/indispensible.
Thanks
Cheers

Crispin,
There was also the possibility of adding a field for recording
quantity...unless you're thinking of including it in the assemblage element?
Our previous database was quite well developed for recording finds. On
migrating to HBSMR we had to shoehorn data from several existing fields into
Notes and Description fields etc. If you would like to discuss what
additional fields we were using, please get in touch.
