School of Computing & Technology
Professor of Health Information Systems
Circa 40,741 per annum
The School of Computing & Technology is one of five schools
within the University and hosts a range of academic programmes from
Foundation degree to PhD. The school has a strong external dimension with
a number of active research projects in Health Information Systems. There
are also research groups in Human Computer Systems, Intelligent Systems,
Decision Support Systems, Software Engineering, Control Systems and
Automotive Engineering. The School places a great emphasis on a holistic
and integrative approach to the areas of teaching, research and reach-out.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic and well-qualified Professor with an
international reputation, who can provide strong vision and leadership in
the area of Health Information Systems. You must be able to demonstrate
strong academic credentials, leadership and vision; substantial external
links; and experience of the management of major projects. You will be
expected to make a major contribution to the research, teaching and
reach-out activities of the School, including the supervision of research
students and attraction of external research funding.
You will possess a good Honours Degree and a higher degree, preferably a
PhD, in a relevant discipline. Membership/Fellowship of a relevant
professional body would be an advantage. You will demonstrate excellent
research and communication skills and substantial management capability.
You will have wide experience of Health Information Systems and be used to
collaborating with staff at a very senior level.
