Dear WG Members,
I updated the Registry
(http://wip.dublincore.org:8080/dcregistry/index.html) today with term
translations for Arabic, Chinese (traditional) and Thai.  The source for the
translations is the ULIS Registry (http://avalon.ulis.ac.jp/registry/).  The
ULIS Registry is a convenient source for DCES translations since Mitsuharu
and other ULIS staff have already encoded and character-escaped the
translations.  I hope to have the remainder of these translations imported
prior to our scheduled production date.

However, one item that is not available is the character string that
represents each language.  This is used in the drop-down boxes on the
'Preferences' screen.  I would appreciate it if someone could verify the
translations I used to represent the Arabic, Thai and Traditional Chinese
languages.  It is easy for someone not familiar with a language to confuse
the word that represents the language with the word that represents the
people.  My German friends have had to tell me more than once that Deutsch
is not the same as Deutsche :)

Dr. Hsueh-hua Chen of the National Taiwan University was kind enough to
translate the user interface into traditional Chinese.  Would anyone be
interested in doing this for Arabic or Thai?  I would be happy to provide a
rough translation based on the online language tools if someone with native
language skills would volunteer to review and correct the translation.
