You can check to see if virus warnings are hoaxes before you pass them on
by checking on one of the anti-virus websites first:

http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/hoaxes/
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/hoax.html
These hoaxers prey on your public spirited nature. The damage they cause
is twofold - it wastes bandwidth and it creates a sense of crying wolf
about viruses. If they were real, you would hear from institutional
sources (eg an IT support dept).
