I would presume that your training comes under one of the professional
bodies for accreditation purposes. If you feel unsatisfied with the
appeal you can contact them. I would also suggest that you insist on
having a 3rd party uninvolved witness present.
With regard to the personal issue, I had a similar issue with a female
supervisor (also psychodynamic) after I had trained. I took it to my
therapy and there were certainly issues for me. I do believe, however,
that she had issues with me which should have gone to her personal
therapy. As far as I am aware that never happened. I can report that I
now have a very good, open and honest relationship with a female
supervisor. I was also concerned because of my history and we discussed
my worries. She has told me that she believes that often supervisors are
unwilling to admit to there own stuff due to unaccepted power issues
(see Alice Miller's writing). The dynamics of a supervision group may
also reflect the family relationships of the clients under discussion as
well as those of the counsellors in the group.
Hope that helps
Mark

Subject: Supervision question-help needed
Dear all,
I have a problem around supervision from the standpoint of the
supervisee, i.e., where do I go when I feel emotionally abused by my
supervisor. I am still in college, (doing an M.A., final stages) and
feel that I hasve been bullied by my supervisor. I responded by
"retreating" into some sort of a shell, whioch rendered me unable
(unwilling?) to hear, comprehend, what my supervisor was saying to me.
This withdrawal rendered me incapabler to participate fully in group
discussions, and finally led to a 'fail' grade from the supervisor
himself.
I reported my felt abuse in the bewginning of term, and am now fighting
an appeal against my failure of the term.
I'd love to her whatever you have to say, experiences, etc.
Rgds.
Rick
