The Technical Advisory Service for Images is pleased to offer three
days of workshops at The Robinson Library, Newcastle University.
2nd July - Advanced Capture
3rd July - How to Photograph your Original Material
4th July - Managing a Digitisation Project
TASI provides training workshops for those involved in image
digitisation projects, those who wish to capture images and those who
wish to use digital images in teaching and research. These three
workshops can be combined back-to-back with an overnight stay. All
workshops start at 10 am and finish by 4.30 pm.
'Capture/Digitisation - Advanced' is for involved at the front line of
digitisation projects who wish to develop an advanced practical and
theoretical understanding of capturing digital images.
'How to photograph your original materials for digitisation' will
provide an understanding of the techniques and choices open to those
who wish to photograph (either traditionally or digitally) artefacts
that may be too large or fragile to be digitised directly on a flat bed
scanner.
'Managing a Digitisation Project' provides managers, project leaders
and those involved in writing proposals with an outline of management
strategies that will be required during a digitisation programme.
Workshop cost 125 pounds for participants from Higher or Further
Education, and 150 pounds for participants from Government, charities,
libraries, galleries or museums. Prices for Commercial participants are
available on request.
