Subject: German to English Encyclopaedia
Dear Translator,
I am writing to you from thebigword (also known as Link Up Mitaka Ltd) a
leading Language Management Company based in the UK.
We have a potential job that you might be interested in: German to English.
The document to be translated is an Encyclopaedia for Medieval studies. It is
believed that the source text is very highbrow and aimed at academics.
At present, we are still in talks with the client and have been asked to
demonstrate the high quality of the translators we would use on this project.
"Medieval studies" is not listed as a subject area on our database so this e-
mail shot is sent to all German to English translators registered on our
database.
We are looking for translators having an extensive experience in publishing. If
you can demonstrate translation experience in the field of History, have a
keen interest in Medieval History or have translated encyclopaedias before,
we would like to hear from you ASAP (deadline for replies is Friday 10th May
2002 - 4.30pm).
In your reply, please e-mail me an updated version of your CV including a
proven track record of the above. If you have recently sent your CV replying to
our update campaign, please ensure that the CV you sent includes the
proven track record requested.
Many thanks in advance for your reply to [log in to unmask]
Kind regards,
Hélène Duchêne
