***The European Commission's Sixth Framework Programme includes substantial
funding for research projects integrated by Networks of Excellence. EvoNet
invites researchers to submit ideas to Project Whiteboard, for inclusion in
a future NoE proposal.***
Read on, if you are interested in European research funding or in a
continuation of a Network of Excellence in evolutionary computing.
The European Commission has asked for Expressions of Interest (EoI) by 7
June from Integrated Projects and Networks of Excellence to help define the
scope and focus of calls for FP6 proposals published this autumn
(http://www.cordis.lu/fp6/eoi-instruments/home.html). EvoNet can help by
taking some of the time-consuming administrative work out of your hands, and
by making several general Expressions of Interest on behalf of the
evolutionary community.
Now is the time to dust down your research ideas and submit some outline
ideas to EvoNet's Project Whiteboard (http://146.176.162.36/fp6/). This
matching service lets you submit a draft project pitch, specifying your
research interests (intent, scope, required project partners). You may also
browse through other research projects to contact potential collaborators,
or to prepare complementary research proposals.
EvoNet will make general Expressions of Interest on behalf of the
evolutionary community based on the research ideas appearing on Project
Whiteboard. One will be for a Network of Excellence providing integrating
activities including training of researchers, dissemination and
communication activities. Where suitable research projects can be clustered
into Integrated Projects, EvoNet can make Expressions of Interest on behalf
of the project partners.
You only have to concern yourself with your actual research ideas, and
EvoNet will take on all the admin from there before the 7 June deadline. In
July all the EoI abstracts will appear on the Commission website. At this
stage we are only looking for outline ideas -- details can be developed
later and further planning and partner-finding can take place over the
summer/autumn, if you are interested in submitting a full project proposal,
either as an Integrated Project, or to be included in the Network of
Excellence.
Expressions of Interest sent to the Commission can help shape future
proposal calls but we cannot include your ideas if you don't send something
to Project Whiteboard now, even just to throw down a general marker for the
future.
Please note that you do not need to be an EvoNet member to submit a proposal
to Project Whiteboard.
You can visit Project Whiteboard at http://146.176.162.36/fp6/
Best wishes
