Dear All,
Greetings from Al-Ain the oasis city. “How various specialists and sub
specialists view EBM?” seems to have created a lot of interest and
discussion. Professor Wallace from New York has pointed out this editorial,
which has some strong (anti) EBM views.

It is clear that we cannot just add the speciality after the term EB!
EB nursing, EB physiotherapy, EB occupational therapy and so on!
I found the recent EBEM (evidence based emergency medicine) initiative by
emergency physicians (from USA) timely, informative and useful. Although
many of you might have seen it, I would like to share this with the list.

Across the Atlantic:
UK emergency physicians have long been active in EBEM (from 1998). The
Manchester Royal Infirmary has done commendable work in the field of
Evidence Based Emergency Medicine and they have published over 125 best BETS
(Best Evidence Topics) in indexed journals from 1998 until now. The topics
vary from antibiotics for dog bite to Oral acyclovir in acute cutaneous
herpes zoster.

I hope this will be of interest to some of the members on the list.
Cheers & regards,
