To Mischievous Peter, Hi,
On Friday I spent an hour + explaining TED and taking 3 partners of an
SME through a selection of notices which I had pulled for them as
examples, so that they could fully understand the system, and what they
were going to receive every day via e-mail from us. They are in Swansea
but a face to face meeting was essential to spread the word. They have
taken the service at £300 plus vat for 6 months to see how they
progress.
This morning they contacted me to ask what Article 29 was as part of the
Services Directive and since they are a partnership how could they
supply adequate information for a tender which was "made for them" with
the DVLC in Swansea. They realise already that they have to tighten up
some of their internal systems, which will aid their competitiveness and
they should consider joining a professional body for their trade.
Last year our TED users won £66m of public business as a direct result
of our service. All verified contracts! Do you know of any other public
programme or service that could make that claim?
Perhaps we should be charging more than £600 pa for an EIC service which
can be used as a real driver for SMEs to move up several notches in the
efficiency and efficacy stakes. When do you want to sign up with us? You
will get the information even when you do not go on the system yourself,
when you are away on holiday or sick, presenting to the Commission or
all those other things that are more important in running your business
and servicing the business you win from public bodies.
Cheers
Brian Meredith Wales EIC
