Subject: Request for information
Dear Mark,
If you think it is appropriate, would you mind circulating this request on
the Disability Research discussion list?
With many thanks,
Hazel Jones
New research project: Request for information
Access and use of water and sanitation facilities by physically disabled
people in low-income communities
This new research project, funded by the UK Department for International
Development, iwill be looking at how disabled people get access to and use
water and sanitation facilities in low and middle income countries, how the
situation could be improved. We will be identifying and sharing information
on appropriate and affordable aids, technologies and approaches.
Our first task is to get an overview of what information already exists, how
it is being used, what problems disabled people face, and what the
information needs are. If you have any information, personal experience or
views about this issue, it would be of great help to the project. We would
particularly welcome contributions from disabled people and family members,
service providers, NGO, health or CBR workers.
For more information about the project (in either English or French),
including a short questionnaire, please contact Hazel Jones
([log in to unmask]) I will send a Word doc (35KB) unless you request a
smaller (10KB) .rtf file.
Or go straight to http://www.lboro.ac.uk/wedc/projects/auwsfpdp/index.htm.
With many thanks,
Hazel Jones
