Pam and Joe, also Dave and any UMTC people:
IC Press have a small number of copies of 'Teaching Undergraduate
Mathematics' remaining - 43 copies at the last count - that they are
willing to sell off in bulk as sales are now very slow. They've offered a
price of around 18 pounds each, but I think they'll accept less. I
wondered about offering 500 pounds all in (there's p&p to consider
too). This is hardback, by the way.
I wanted to ask you whether LTSNMSOR and/or UMTC would purchase these, or
some of them, for re-sale. The book, based on UMTCs, sold adequately given
its market and the fact that the publishers made no serious attempt to
push it, but these copies might as well be used. I think there's still
useful material there.
Please let me know if any or all parties would buy some or all copies at
what price. I would consider buying some myself, but I can't use 43
copies! For example, if they accepted the 500 pounds offer, I might take
10, requiring c.400 pounds from LTSN/UMTC, with, I hope, re-sale of some
copies at UMTC and more at other events. If they won't accept 500, I might
go to 600, but I think that's enough!
Let me know what you think.
John
