Subject: Policing in the Czech Republic
I am looking for suggestions of contacts in Prague on broad issues of
policing reforms in that country. I will be meeting with trainers at the
Police Academy and learning about new training they are implementing using
modules developed by COLPI. I'ld like to get a few selected
recommendations of people who could help me get a broader sense of
institutional reform issues and how the training fits supports other
structural changes in the Czech police - or not, as the case may be. In
particular, I'm interested in disciplinary and accountability mechanisms,
management issues, and the operational priorities and political pressures on
or priorities set for the police.
Unfortunately, I do not speak Czech or Russian, only English, French and
Spanish.
Many thanks for any help list members can offer.
